The Temple of Life is the final dungeon mission in Potions: A Curious Tale. Completing this mission will earn you both the Vital Victor and the Potions Master achievements. You must complete a mini-mission before moving onto the final Temple of Life quest.

The Prince and the Poison

This mission begins when you leave Granny’s house after the Temple of Destruction. Prince Charming will be outside and will receive a letter informing him that the King is sick. The Prince suspects poison!

Return to Granny and she will give you the Cure-All Potion recipe.

Gather the ingredients and craft the potion. You can find the ingredients at the following places:

  1. Fairy Dust – Use an air potion on a Fairy in the Fairy Forest
  2. Yeti Fur – Use a metal potion on the Yeti in the northeastern part of the Temple of Time (Tundra). This is also related to recruiting Jason to Old Haven.
  3. Golden Peach – Use Helios to gather fruit from the tree in the Golden Peach Tree (Fairy Forest) area where you met Sun Wukong during Journey to the East.

Return to Prince Charming and he will thank you for the potion and reverse his opinion about the value of magic.

Temple of Life – Finding the Temple

The final mission starts at Granny’s house after completing The Prince and the Poison.

Head to the Swamp and navigate through the Kelpie Cove east to the Bogmire Hollow. Follow the path north to meet Emily. Read the book to receive a hint about cooperation.

Cooperate with Emily to work through the puzzles.

Afterwards you’ll meet with Baba Yaga, who will reveal that she is the one who poisoned Emily’s father! Weird flex but ok. Baba Yaga agrees to lift the curse, and Emily returns home.

Continue north and exit to reach the Temple of Life area. Near the entrance is a giant star. Similar to the quest during a Strange Hut when you retrieved the Fairy Dust, you will need to use elemental potions to activate different towers in the area.

I started with the northwestern path.

Make your way southwest until you come across a blue barrier stone. Use it and continue west to find the Water tower. Use a water potion to activate it.

Backtrack to where the blue barrier deactivated, south of the blue stone.

When you’re heading south stick to the edge to slowly make your way around the gravity creature. Navigate the blade trap and use an earth potion on the tower.

Return to the main junction and take the north path this time. You will encounter a gate that requires 15 Silver Cards (health upgrade) and a red barrier. The red stone to deactivate the barrier is in a small path hidden directly southeast, close enough that you can see both on the screen at the same time.

Make your way clockwise around the northern border and you will come across the sun pillar, which is already lit.

Continue southeast along the path until you reach a boulder. Destroy the boulder and then use an earth potion on the earth pillar.

Once you activate all four elemental pillars there should be a cutscene with the star gate. The barrier south of the star gate is now open.

Follow the path south past the statues.

Continue south, east, and then north while defeating or avoiding enemies. Eventually you will reach the Temple of Life.

The dice puzzle solution is Left – Left – Right – Right. (Or Right – Right – Left – Left)

Temple of Life

When you enter the temple there will be a patch of soil without a sign near the entrance. Your objective for these “super soil” patches is to find a seed and water the soil using the irrigation system. Your water potions won’t suffice for super soil.

A normal soil patch is to your left. Use a water potion to grow a vine bridge. Cross the bridge and throw the water potion across the gap at the second soil patch.

Pick up the seed and return to the super soil patch near the entrance. Plant the seed to grow a huge vine that you can climb to reach the next level.

Walk onto the lily pad. Luna will show off her very good hopping skills to move from lily pad to lily pad. Navigate along the lily pads until you hit a junction. Heading west nets you a treasure chest.

Use the lily pads to travel east and you will come across another super soil patch.

Water the normal soil path to the south to create a vine bridge that you can use to grab the seed. You’ll also need to step on the button to water the super soil.

Climb the vine and you’ll arrive at another level with a lily pad. Once again you should follow the lily pads until you reach a junction. Heading along the north path will net you another treasure chest.

Return to the junction and take the east path. You’ll be in a room with two barriers. Unlock the northern one first to step on the button.

Then unlock the southern barrier and use a water potion on the soil to create a vine bridge to the seed.

Walk along the path with water and you’ll encounter a Stone Golem. Defeat it and use the super soil in the northeast corner of the room. I used 2 Greater Ice Potions to defeat the golem.

Once again you’ll arrive at a new level in a lily pad maze. Most of the paths in this maze lead to dead ends or circles. You’ll want to navigate north, then west, then south. If you continue the spiral towards the center then you’ll find a chest.

The exit to the maze is in the southwestern corner of the room.

You’ll be in a room with a cauldron and a deactivated giant Stone Golem.

Head south and use the normal soil patches to create vine bridges to the seed.

Once you have the seed, head to the northern part of the room and use the vine bridge to reach the button and activate the irrigation.

Once the irrigation is activated then the giant Stone Golem will start to move. Defeat the golem and use the super soil to grow a giant vine. Use the new vine to pick up a key.

Head southwest to unlock the gate, then plant the seed and climb the vine when you’re ready to face the final battle.

Temple of Life: Final Battle

Head north and Luna will discover the source of the darkness. Luna will hint that you can use the orbs to “shift the balance.”

There are four orbs in the area: one near the larger stone (south), one on the western path, one to the north, and one on the eastern path. The northern stone requires that you climb a vine to reach it.

If you interact with all four orbs and return to the larger orb then Helios and Luna will hint about the true solution. Another hint is that Nayr and other characters have referred to you as “balancer”.

The solution is to balance the light and dark stones: 2 dark stones and 2 light stones. Pick any two stones to turn back to dark and interact with the larger orb again.

You’ve restored balance and beat the game! During the dialogue with Helios and Luna you should receive both the Vital Victor and the Potions Master achievements.

After the credits you will return to Granny’s house and be free to continue exploring. Now is the perfect time to wrap up any Collectibles you missed, such as the Potion Recipes, Cards, Creatures, or Village Recruits.
